Thank You and Good Night

We have decided not to continue with BCGF. We had a great run and thank all of our colleagues for their support.

I’m going to be at TCAF this weekend with my collective, Coffee Spoons Comics, at table 110.  I’ll have copies of my new mini-comic (Roxie #5).  Come say hey!

I’m going to be at TCAF this weekend with my collective, Coffee Spoons Comics, at table 110.  I’ll have copies of my new mini-comic (Roxie #5).  Come say hey!

oh dear, it’s that time of year again where I start REALLY stressing out about TCAF.

comicsworkbook:

Behold THE INFINITE CORPSE, a jam comic started in secret over a year ago by Aaron Renier, Nate Beaty and the other cartoonists of Chicago’s comics collective Trubble Club. Based on a combination of Raw’s Narrative Corpse project and Scott McCloud’s idea of the “infinite canvas,” it’s a kind of exquisite corpse comic focused around the skeleton Corpsey. There are already 200+ cartoonists who’ve participated (Art Spiegelman, Alison Bechdel, Pen Ward, Carol Tyler, Ivan Brunetti, Lilli Carré etc etc etc) and now it is open to everyone. So go, read! Contribute! Be a part of this ground-breaking new project!

This is so cool.

This was in the Garfield free comic from yesterday and it’s the most confusing panel I’ve ever seen

Hey everyone! A lot of you may have heard about this already, but DOMINO is losing our headquarters, 282 Broadway/Cartoon House (also the place that I and many other people in the arts/comics community live out of). It’s a sad situation—-so much work has been made in this apartment, and many artists/cartoonists/people-involved-in-art have called it their home over the last decade, including Lizz Hickey, Jon Vermilyea, Jesse McManus, Clara Bessijelle, Bald Eagles/Victor Cayro, Christopher Ortiz, Becca Kacanda, Jeff Ladoceur, Dave Nuss, Bill Kartalopoulos, Aidan Koch and myself, Austin English. The apartment has also been a ‘safe-house’ for cartoonists and artists visiting New York—-it would be hard to list all the people who have crashed here for a day or a week or months while working on their art. The space also serves as the headquarters for 3 small publishers—-DOMINO, Rebus Books and Revival House. For small businesses like ours, the move will be involved and cut into our already razor-thin-margins operations. Make no mistake, we will survive and continue to thrive after this move! BUT—-DOMINO is asking for your help today by asking for one simple thing: if you’ve been considering ordering any of our books——especially the 6 books we publish, DARK TOMATO, SPIDER MONKEY, FACE MAN, DIFFICULT LOVES, SPACE BASKET or TUSEN HJARTAN STARK—-now would be a wonderful time for you to go ahead and buy them! We offer all six books together for $26 (you get TUSEN for free, plus pay no shipping). But, really, any order today helps us out with this move and lightens our load (less books, less to move)! Thanks you guys! Link to the store below—-check it out and feel free to share this!

if you can purchase something from Domino Books or can at least reblog this. They are an incredible selfpublishing energy!

The first time I met Austin I got mad at him for eating my carrots…but he is a real sweetheart and could really use your help.  Plus his books are FANTASTIC.

Austin’s a good guy and you probably need these books.

282 Broadway.
Wow that was the spot if comics ever had a The_Spot. This is unfortunate, if you’ve ever been there, you know. But time marches on, right?
Help the fellows out! Get some of their books if artcomics are your bag.

This makes me sad.  So many good memories here.
